Attorneys in the Criminal Appeals Division represent the State in criminal appeals and other criminal proceedings in the Supreme Court of Mississippi, the Court of Appeals of Mississippi, and the Supreme Court of the United States, and also represent the State’s interest in extradition matters.
By law the Attorney General’s Office is prohibited from defending or consulting, advising, or counseling with anyone who has been charged with a crime. If you have been charged with a crime, you should seek the help of a criminal defense attorney. The Mississippi Bar has information on pro bono legal services that may be helpful.
