Medicaid Fraud
Marlin (Marty) Miller, is currently an Assistant Attorney General and serves as the Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). Prior to joining the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Marty served as an Assistant District Attorney and as the Deputy District Attorney for the 20th Circuit Court Judicial District encompassing Madison and Rankin Counties from January 2008 until March 2020.
He is a 1988 graduate of Pearl High School and received his B.S. in Business Administration and Finance in 1992 from Mississippi College and J.D. Degree in 1998 from the University of Mississippi. He completed an internship with the United States Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division, in Jackson, MS, prior to graduation.
From 1992 - 1995 he served as an Auditor with General Motors Acceptance Corporation prior to entering law school. Upon graduating from law school he served as an Appellate Law Clerk with the Mississippi Court of Appeals for the Late James E. Thomas, Judge. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Appellate Advocacy with the Mississippi College School of Law.
He was an Assistant District Attorney in the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office 7th Circuit Court Judicial District from 2001 - 2003 and was assigned violent crimes.
He has practiced is the civil arena with Wilkins Stephens & Tipton in general civil litigation; Forman Perry Watkins Krutz and Tardy in their mass toxic tort division and as a partner in Miller Fulgham.
He is a member of the Mississippi Bar, Rankin County Bar and Mississippi Prosecutor’s Association. He is a past commissioner on Ms Bar Board of Bar Commissioners representing the 20th Circuit Court Judicial District of Madison and Rankin Counties, a past president of the Pearl Kiwanis Club and a past officer with the Rankin County Republican Executive Committee having served on that committee for over 10 years.
He is married to Kimberly Miller for 20 years and they have one son Samuel who attends Brandon Public Schools. They are members of Park Place Baptist Church.
